Forza Motorsport 8 Will Launch With More Than 500 Cars

The eighth installment in the Forza Motorsport series has received numerous new details in Xbox’s latest developer directive. The game has a new level of technical accuracy, confirming it will launch with over 500 fully customizable cars and over 800 unique upgrade parts, according to the recently released listing.

Forza Motorsport 8’s new physics model will include and enhance all the technical improvements from previous games. How each car accelerates and brakes will feel different, and all aspects of the game will be visually enhanced using materials and shadows optimized for real-time ray tracing.

Paints on the surface of each car are captured using a spectrophotometer, a device that precisely measures the electromagnetic energy in specific wavelengths of light from the surfaces, allowing paints to give much more realistic light responses across color, metal flake and gloss. The new engine can also simulate paint thickness, chipping and directionality.

Damage and dirt buildup will be specific to each vehicle. It is now contextually aware and more local in places of friction. Also, dirt will accumulate in low-pressure areas such as indentations and indentations, and all of these may seem like minor details, but they reflect the story your car will tell on the racing battlefield.

As for the audio department, Forza Motorsport 8 will be the first to be mixed locally for immersive audio formats like Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos. The sound systems were also built from the ground up to offer a new level of sound depth and sound authenticity for gamers. Changing car parts like exhaust and turbo will now change the sound of the car and each car will have various sounds according to each part you install. Sounds will respond to the cars’ surroundings, and new features such as original track announcer systems and tire and suspension sound will bring a new level of audio realism like never before.

Forza Motorsport 8 will launch with 20 environments, including iconic fan favorites and five new locations such as Kyalami in South Africa. The Xbox Series X|S console allows the inclusion of environments that are 10x more detailed than their predecessors, such as lush trees, dense grass, animated track life, physically-based lighting, volumetric fog effects, and a fully procedural cloud system. The weather system will also ensure that no runways look or feel the same. All media are certified to be rendered in 4K quality and 60 Frames Per Second.
