This message is from a Bloomberg Report detailing Microsoft’s layoff comes as company seeks to cut costs amid wider economic slowdown. These layoffs come amid Microsoft’s ongoing fight against the FTC to acquire Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard for a staggering $69 billion. Bloomberg reports that some people at Bethesda Game Studios, who are working hard to prepare Starfield for its release sometime in the first half of this year, have been fired, but that Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has been hardest hit in the company’s game portfolio Studios.

After BloombergMicrosoft plans to hire in “strategic, competitive areas” like AI, but other tech-centric divisions like HoloLens and some tech divisions have been affected by those layoffs.

Microsoft has yet to release exact numbers and specific departments related to this massive wave of layoffs. Another tech giant, Amazon, is in the midst of a series of layoffs as the company plans to reduce its workforce by 18,000.
