Hi-Rez Studios held a special livestream to detail all the new content coming to the game on January 24, including the Magic the Gathering co-op event in the final stage of the Smite World Championship, Fire Giant Surtr, the new map for Conquest mode. . , plus seasonal rewards and new cosmetics.
To celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary, Smite has announced what will be the biggest collaboration since the game’s initial launch. As part of the event, a new map with unique plot and layout will be added to Conquest mode when the first update of the year starts. As seen in the teaser trailer, this map will also feature new structures, monsters, objectives, themes and more. Additionally, Battle Pass: Boss Monsters and The Smite Year 10 Pass have appeared, featuring new skins, emotes, and voice packs.
Battle Pass: Boss Monsters includes new skins for Kukulkan, Cernunnos, Guan Yu, and Arachne, while Smite Year 10 Pass brings Unlimited Edition Upgraded Skins, emotes, gem rewards, and sound packs. As for the Magic the Gathering co-op event, iconic characters from the card game will appear among other deities in the form of skins for mythical gods, including Chandra Nalaar, Jace Baleren, Liliana Vess, Karn and Atraxa.
The event features free missions with lots of rewards as it adds new cosmetic items like the Power Nine loadout frame and themed leveling skins. Additional Planewalkers and creatures will enter the plane, and five more characters will be added to the game in the second update of this year. Perhaps most excitingly, the gods will soon face the wrath of the Fire Giant Surtr. Players will create fire imps and hurl them at their enemies, use Surtr’s flaming sword to deal damage, and transform into a meteor to bring Ragnarok to the Battleground of the Gods.
Finally, The Season of Monsters requires players to diversify their playstyles, both in the jungle and in the lane, as it introduces new power-ups, structural changes, and treasure chests.
